Whether you are visiting for a week, or are a year round resident, the shore area presents a unique opportunity for family beach portraits which cannot be found elsewhere. Beaches are a wonderful setting for family summer vacation, high school senior photos, bridal or couples images. My special style of portraiture is sure to create images you will treasure for a lifetime. My favorite places to shoot are Seaside Park, Island Beach State Park, Lavallette and Ortley, but other area beaches can be used, as well.
Most of my clients are simply looking for a few fun memoirs of their Jersey Shore vacations and want a few digital files to share with family and friends. As such, I try to keep family sessions simple, quick, and inexpensive!
Every family has unique needs, however, and if you believe you may require more than my simple beach session (below) please contact me to discuss! I love hearing from you.

Let's keep this simple! The session fee includes your group session and your favorite 5 photographs in sharing-sized watermarked digital format for sharing with friends and family, or storing on your phone. Love your photos and need a few more? Sure! Pick all the extras your family wants! Extra sharing-sized watermarked digitals are $18/each. Love prints? Prints of your selected favorites start at $8. I started doing summer beach photography several years ago on a request from one of my womens portrait photography clients- and they became a huge hit. --So much so this website was born just for beach photos!
Summer is short, and my calendar fills quickly. A non refundable retainer is required to reserve your session when booking greater than one week in advance. See F.A.Q.s below for details. Due to the uncertainties of the weather, I only book a limited number of sessions each week.

Session Fee $165. This includes your group session and your favorite 5 sharing-sized* digital photos from your session. Love your photos and need a few more? Sure! Select your favorites shots in either digital format, or order prints for display at home.
Sharing-sized digitals* $18 each. Perfect for online sharing with family and friends. No complicated "packages." Simply purchase what your preference and budget allows.
Prints & Wall Art Prints of selected favorites start at $8. Prints are available to for order for your family or group right from your session gallery. Starting at 4"x6" through 24"x36". View available print options with current pricing by visiting my sample client gallery.
Prints and other special items available are available for purchase through your online family gallery. This gallery is easily accessible online, and can be shared with all family members to pick and purchase their favorites.

Where do you shoot these portraits?Most of my sessions are shot in South Seaside Park, Lavallette, or occasionally Island Beach State Park if the group doesn't mind trekking, however, if you have a favorite location that may be used as well.

Do you work summer holidays and weekends?No. I do not schedule beach sessions on summer holidays/holiday weekends. There is a bit too much chaos. (Beach photos aren't cute with bunches of people in the background.) Saturdays, likewise, are best avoided.

What time will the session be?Typically, only evening after 6PM... except if we have a cloudy day, then perhaps we can start earlier. The daytime light is too harsh and it's way too hot. We will start approximately 90 minutes before sunset.

Can I book my session date now? I'll know we'll be in the area vacationing this summer...Sure. Although we can't pick a specific date, I can, however, get you on my calendar for the dates you will be in the area. When the time arrives we will pick the best available day for your session. Please contact me with your vacation dates so I can get you on my calendar. Only a limited number of spots are available per week during summer. Sadly, every year I have more inquiries than time... I suggest reserving your dates as early as you can.

How many poses are included in our session? We have a big group.There are no restrictions on poses. I do not charge by the size of the group or number of poses.

Can I buy any digital copies of these photos?Yes. Your session includes web sized digitals...which it seems is what most people want to share with family and friends. You are able to purchase as many web-sized watermarked digital files from your session as you wish. Prints and other wall art are also available for purchase after your session. I do not sell full sized digital negatives for you to purchase photography products elsewhere.

I know you said sessions are in the evening, but my babies are almost asleep by then... Can we do this earlier?During the day you cannot walk on the beach and take photos. Everyone would have to pay to get on the beach, including me. Not only that, beaches are full of people during the day. Additionally, as it's been the case lately, it's also nearly 100F during the day. Squinting, hot sweaty people are not what family portrait dreams are made of. I would not be the best fit for your group if you require a daytime family session.

We will only be in the area a short time, how can we review our photos and order prints?"Files are uploaded to an online proofing gallery where they can be viewed from anywhere you have internet access. Prints can be purchased and shipped to your location from your gallery, as well.

Do you charge extra for larger groups?No. My fee is not based on the number of people in the group. Bring along the whole gang!

Do I have to make a deposit?Yes. When booking greater than one week in advance a $40 nonrefundable retainer is paid upon booking. The balance is due on the date of your session. This retainer goes toward paying your session fee. There are only a limited number of sessions available each week, and the retainer secures your spot. No-shows and last minute cancellations keep another family from enjoying family portraits.

Can you do my daughter's senior photos on the beach?Yes. I do a limited number of senior portrait sessions each summer. Visit the page for details on senior beach portraits. Please contact me to discuss.

When should I contact you?Summer is short...the earlier the better. I can start booking dates as early spring for the summer season. Again, due to the uncertainty of weather I only take a few families each week.

Can I bring my dog?Unfortunately, no. Dogs are not permitted on public beaches. Beach patrol can, and will, write a summons.

Do you photograph brides on the beach?Yes. You can see more information on my page for Bridal Sessions. Please contact me for availability.

Do you photograph engagement sessions on the beach?Yes. For a couple who would like photographs in a natural beach environment this can be arranged. Please contact me for details.

Are beach photos edited?Yes. Simple editing is performed on beach photos.
